Audio Mastering

Mastering is the process of fine tuning finished mixes so that they compare well, in terms of overall tonal balance, stereo width, and loudness, with commercially released songs in the same genre. It is also the process of tweaking individual songs that are being released on a CD so that the finished product has continuity.

Home Studio Tutoring

Hire Dave Locke to tutor you on the aspects of recording and mixing that you need help on. Dave will consult with you to help you find these weak areas and then design a customized curriculum to coach you up to speed.

Track Editing and Processing

High end Processing of vocal, instrument, and drum tracks as well as any needed editing to improve individual tracks prior to mixdown.

• Please send a stereo WAV or AIFF file of each song with no final stereo compression/limiting to make it loud (note: Compression on individual tracks is fine), and make sure that the highest peaks do not reach 0dB (digital ceiling). If you feel that the compression is necessary for the mix to work, please contact me before sending so we can discuss it.
• Turnaround time is currently about one week from receipt of your songs.
• Let me know if you have any particular concerns regarding your mixes.
